Located along the Sacramento River in the Pocket-Greenhaven area, Garcia Bend Park is a great place to go for a walk, a bike ride, or even fishing. It also offers tennis courts, soccer fields for youth sports, and a boat launch. Read this first!

Food Truck Mania

Garcia Bend Park is a major local park that is the focus of many community events. It backs up to the levee along the Sacramento River and has a boat launch facility. The park also features tennis courts, picnic areas, and soccer fields.

Food Truck Mania is hosted at the park by the Fair Oaks Recreation & Park District and Sacto Mo Fo (Sacramento Mobile Food). The event takes place every first Thursday evening. Currently, the truck lineup includes Bacon Mania, Dogtown, Gaga’s Rolling Diner, Hefty Gyros, Kona Ice, and more.

The event is free and there’s a beer garden with music from Hero’s Last Mission. Bike parking is provided by Saba, an organization dedicated to making Sacramento a more bike-friendly city. Check out the event website for more information.

Easter Egg Hunt

Join the Easter Bunny at this long-standing Fair Oaks tradition featuring children’s egg hunts, crafts, and activities, pictures with the Easter Bunny, food vendors, a parade, and much more! The event is free to children ages 0-15. There is a golden egg hidden throughout the egg hunt, find it and turn it in at the information booth for a prize!

Located at the Swanston Community Center, this annual Easter Blast event features age-separated egg hunts, pictures with the Easter Bunny, carnival games, and more. This eggcellent family-friendly event is sponsored by the Kiwanis Club and is free for children 10 and under.

Hop on over to the Roseville community park for this fun-filled event. There will be three age-categorized egg hunts, photos with the Easter Bunny, carnival games, food, vendors, and more! Bring your camera to capture a picture of the golden egg, found by children in each age group, that will win a prize! Here is another spot to visit.

Picnic Area

This park is a beautiful place to bring the family for a picnic or barbecue. It features shaded covered tables for groups and plenty of room to spread out. There is also access to the four-mile paved Sacramento River Bike Trail which extends from Tiscomia Park in the north and the Bill Cothnin Sports Complex in the south.

You can also walk along the levee and watch boats and jet skis on the river as well as fishing. There are several soccer fields for youth sports and tennis courts. The park is a popular spot for walking or biking and is usually buggy as the sun begins to set.

The parking lot at Garcia Bend Park has been upgraded and there are now long stalls for boat trailers and tow trucks. There is a small fee for parking at the boat ramp. You can pay the fee by dropping cash in the box at the bottom of the lot near the restrooms.

Boat Launch

Garcia Bend Park Sacramento CA has a large boat launch that backs up to the levee along the Sacramento River. It is where many local fishermen and boaters launch their watercraft. The park also offers restrooms, soccer fields, tennis courts & picnic areas.

Located in the South Pocket Greenhaven neighborhood this scenic riverfront park is a great place to bring the family for a barbecue or to play some tennis with friends. It also hosts a lot of local events and is the main focus of the neighborhood.
